The Lazlo Legacy--Chance 2.1

This dingy townhouse is Chance and Nichol’s new home. They had a nice home down the street from Fortune and Faith, but the lot was glitched. After visitors excused themselves, they couldn’t leave the lot. Remember the old bug from TS1 where if a house had a fence surrounding it and a visitor excused himself and went out the back door of the house, he could not figure out how to route his way to the front?  Well, the visitors to Chance and Nichol’s house were behaving like that. Seriously, EAxis, eleven years and you still haven’t found a solution to that bug????

I tried removing the fence, but that didn’t seem to help so Chance and Nichol had to move to the seedy side of town.

The location may not be the best, but they do have some nice views  (provided you ignore the highway running by their lot).

You would think a Super Star Athlete would be living in a mansion, but Nichol doesn’t seem to mind. As long as she is with Chance, she’s happy. You may forget because we haven’t seen them much, but this Generation 2 couple has been together the longest.

After breakfast, Chance and Nichol went to one of my favorite community lots in Harmony to work on Nichol’s LTW. This lot is a Chinese Garden. It even gives Sims the Zen moodlet like the Scholar’s Garden in Shang SmLa. Nichol’s LTW is Physical Perfection which means she must master both the Athletic and Martial Arts skills. The poor girl didn’t have a point in either skill, so she was starting from scratch.

Chance improved his skill to Green Belt (stupid cell phone ruining my shot).

Nichol got up to orange belt on the dummy. She then sparred with Chance.

Look at them size each other up.

This shot reminded me of Justice and Adaeze. While watching them spar, I decided that every generation will have a sparring couple. It will be a Lazlo tradition.

I had to get a close up of Chance’s face. He definitely has his mother’s spirit when it comes to sparring. Adaeze always meant business. Of course, Chance won the match because he was a few levels above Nichol.

Townie Omari Dunham showed up while Chance and Nichol were sparring. Does he look familiar? Twallan’s Story Progression has the option to create townies based off of Sims in your Sim Bin. I’m not sure who his mother is, but his father has to be Justice. He has Justice’s hair and eyes. His mother obviously was dark-skinned. Maybe it was SimTemesha. (Please don’t tell SimDanny). 
[Edited 12/30/2011: Omari actually has the face one template that all townies have. I only recently realized that I didn't have Immigration enabled on Twallan's Story Progression, so all of the townies were generated using EAxis code...which means that all get the same face.]

Anyway, Nichol is going to have to put Marital Arts skilling on the back burner for a while.

Bless you, Nichol, for rolling these wishes! Chance dislikes children, so he was not likely to roll any wishes to have a baby. I know in my last post I said Chance and Nichol would have babies until they have a boy, but I have decided the boy requirement is only going to be on the main legacy line (which is currently Guardian). All “spares” will only have children if they or their spouse rolls a wish for a baby. They could also end up with a baby by wishing for woohoo because I’m still playing with the Strict Family Values handicap in which all woohoos must be Try for Baby.

Nichol got her first baby bump after leaving work.

And this is her second. She’s so skinny, it took her a long time to look pregnant. I think she makes a cute pregnant lady, though.

When you’re pregnant, the only thing you can do towards your Physical Perfection LTW is pump iron. This must be a pregnant mom’s weight lifting class.

Chance had the wish to train someone, so he worked on this townie. (Yeah, I didn’t realize until later that I should have had him train Nichol.) Cut me some slack, I was sick when I played this.

Chance’s training session was interrupted by Nichol’s weight lifting partner going into labor. Chance played Good Samaritan and got her to the hospital.

She had a baby girl…

,,,and Chance got a positive moodlet from it. I was surprised by this because a) Chance dislikes children and b) this is not his daughter.

Maybe witnessing the birth of the townie’s girl opened up Chance’s eyes. He was very gentle with Nichol when he got home, giving her a massage.

Later that night, he got to witness his own daughter being born.

Welcome to the world, Serendipity Lazlo!

So, we're going to fast forward a couple of days to Serendipity's toddler birthday party. Chance was cooking Goopy Carbonara on the stove when I clicked on Nichol to fetch Serendipity to bring her to the cake. Chance decided that he wanted to bring her to the cake instead. Of course, he left the goop cooking on the stove. Thank goodness Leeann’s mom, Layla, crashed the party because she was the only one that had the presence of mind to put the fire out. (Oh, yeah, I ported over Leeann’s family to Harmony too.)

Here’s a shot of Leeann with her mother and mother-in-law.

Here is little Serendipity. She’s got her dad’s hair and eyes, and her skin is a blend of her parents’. She had Athletic locked in and she got Artistic by random roll. She likes Egg Rolls, Egyptian music, and the color Blue.

Serendipity also got a doll in the mail. I’ve come up with a naming theme for the imaginary friends, and I have renamed Faith’s kids’ dolls to match the theme. Serendipity's doll is named Dr. Will. If you don’t get the theme now, I think you will when we go back to Faith’s house.

 

I received notification that both Chance and Nichol had faithful reputations. Of course they do, they’re Lazlos! With the exception of my Heartbreaker and my Master Romancer, I’m sure all of the Lazlos will have faithful reputations.

I don’t think the same can be said for Doreen. I got a story progression update that she had broken up with her boyfriend. I zoomed in on her and found her dancing with this dude at a bar. She obviously got over her breakup quickly. By the way, this dude’s name is Titus Rich and he lives in a mansion all by himself. Hang on to this one, Doreen!

In honor of Father’s Day (here in America, at least), here’s one last shot of Daddy and his little girl. Next time, we’ll go back to Faith’s lot to see the triplets and twins age up. Stay tuned!
